Heating a European rental is a different problem from cooling an American one. Radiators, gas boilers and per-unit energy prices mean an empty apartment kept warm all week is real money — and a cold one at check-in is a review waiting to happen. tado° is built for exactly this landscape: smart thermostats and smart radiator valves that retrofit onto the heating systems European homes actually have.

ProhostAI adds the missing input — the booking calendar. Each listing gets a heating schedule with phases: setback temperatures while the flat sits empty, a pre-arrival warm-up that starts a lead time before check-in so radiators have caught up by the time guests reach the door, and occupied settings for the stay.

Guests get comfort inside boundaries. Set a per-listing minimum and maximum, and if someone winds the heating past your ceiling — on the wall or through the thermostat control you can offer in their digital guidebook — the setpoint is brought back inside the limits automatically. The radiators never run wild on your gas bill.

Your tado° smart thermostats sync into ProhostAI with their connection status, and you assign each one to its listing; other tado° devices may appear where supported. Sign-in happens with your tado° account in a secure window — no API key, nothing to install beyond the tado° hardware you already have.

Climate control

• Setback heat while the flat is empty Between stays the listing holds your eco temperature — warm enough to protect the pipes, cheap enough to forget about.
• Warm by the time keys are in hand The pre-arrival phase starts a lead time before check-in — an hour by default, longer if your radiators need it — bringing the flat up to your comfort setpoint before guests arrive. "Have the flat at 21° by 3pm on every arrival day."
• A ceiling on the heating Per-listing min/max limits are enforced automatically — a setpoint cranked past them is moved back inside your range, and guest requests from the guidebook are clamped to it too.
• Warmth on request, within your range Optionally let guests adjust the heating from their digital guidebook — requests are rate-limited and always land between your min and max.

Automation

• The calendar sets the heating, not the host Phases follow the real reservation dates, including date changes and cancellations — no dashboard fiddling on changeover day.
• Every listing on its own terms The Alpine chalet and the city studio each keep their own setback, pre-arrival and occupied settings, applied to their assigned tado° devices.
• Devices you can keep an eye on Each connected tado° device appears with its connection status, so a dropped thermostat is visible before winter makes it urgent.

Connecting tado° takes a few minutes, entirely in the browser:

1. In ProhostAI, open Smart Devices and choose Connect account.
2. Pick Tado in the secure connection window and sign in with your tado° account credentials.
3. Your tado° devices sync in automatically with their connection status.
4. Assign each device to its listing.
5. Set the listing’s heating schedule — setback, pre-arrival and occupied phases plus min/max limits — and it runs from the next booking on.
