Schlage

A Schlage keypad already solves the key handoff. What it does not solve is the bookkeeping around it — someone still has to invent a code for Friday’s guest, program it, text it out, and remember to delete it after checkout. Multiply that by a calendar of bookings and a few properties, and the smart lock quietly becomes another manual task.

ProhostAI closes that loop. Once your Schlage account is connected and a lock is assigned to a listing, every reservation gets its own access code with a start and end tied to the stay. The code is programmed onto the lock ahead of check-in, and where the lock supports it, ProhostAI uses the last four digits of the guest’s phone number — a code guests already know without being told twice.

Delivery is automatic too. The door code drops into your scheduled check-in messages and the digital guidebook through a template variable, so the guest reads it in the same message flow that tells them where to park. And if you enable it, the door stays in reach all stay long — guests can lock and unlock straight from that same digital guidebook, so a mid-stay lockout doesn’t become a phone call.

WiFi models like the Schlage Encode series connect through the same Schlage account you already use at home, so there is no hub to buy and nothing to install on site.

Once your Schlage account is connected and locks are assigned to listings, this runs on its own:

Guest access

• A unique code per reservation Each booking gets its own code with a validity window built from the stay dates — active shortly before check-in, gone after checkout.
• Codes guests actually remember Where the lock supports it, the code is the last four digits of the guest’s phone number, with a safe random fallback when those digits are unavailable or already on the lock.
• Delivered in messages and the guidebook A template variable drops the right code into scheduled messages and the guest guidebook, so access instructions always match the lock. "Your door code is 4821 — it works from 4pm on your check-in day."

Automation

• An AI that can work the door Your AI employee can look up a stay’s door code, generate one, or lock and unlock on request — rate-limited, logged with who asked for what, and codes are withheld for cancelled or past bookings.
• Codes follow date changes If a reservation shifts or cancels, the code’s window moves or the code is removed with it. No orphaned codes from rebooked weekends.
• A device history you can audit Unlocks, code changes and failures land in a per-device timeline, so “did the cleaner come Tuesday?” has an answer.
• Failures surface instead of hiding If a code fails to set — lock offline, battery dead — the failure is tracked and surfaced so you can act before the guest is at the door.

Connecting Schlage takes a few minutes and happens entirely in the browser:

1. In ProhostAI, open Smart Devices and choose Connect account.
2. Pick Schlage in the secure connection window and sign in with your Schlage account credentials.
3. Your locks sync in automatically — each one shows up as a device with its battery and connection status.
4. Assign each lock to its listing and give it a name guests would recognize (Front door, Garage).
5. From the next reservation on, codes are created, delivered and removed automatically.
